How Can This Plan Save You Money?
The Bestflex Plan, an IRS-approved Section 125 Cafeteria benefit plan, provides employees with tax-free savings on out-of-pocket health/dental "medical" and "dependent" care expenses.  How is this tax-free?  The employee calculates their BESTflex "enrollment" amount by determining how much out-of-pocket medical and/or dependent expenses they will incur.  This amount will not count as taxable income on the employee's payroll; thus, the employee will have more take-home pay.  Note:  Annual enrollment is for estimated expenses incurred during a calendar year.

As a participant, monitor the status of claims/account balance via your online "My Account Assistant".  If EBC has questions regarding a claim reimbursement, their preferred and first form of communication to staff members will be via email.

Enrollment Period and Plan Year
The enrollment period is (1) upon hire for remainder of calendar year (2) annually effective January 1 - December 31 or (3) mid-year for a permitted election change - contact Jenny Endres.  Future BESTflex medical and dependent participation occurs only when an employee completes the proper enrollment process.
 
Insurance Premium Payroll Deductions
Employees paying health and/or dental insurance permiums through the district will have these premiums automatically deducted pre-tax via payroll.  However, staff choosing to not enroll in pre-tax health and dental premium deductions must submit a notice in writing to Human Resources.
