What is a BESTflex Plan? A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) gives employees the option to participate in a plan that saves money on their out-of-pocket medical and /or dependent day care expenses. Participants elect to place a portion of their paycheck into one or both FSAs. Participants draw upon these funds to pay for eligible medical expenses and /or dependent care expenses. Because these elections are deducted from the employee’s paychecks on a pre-tax basis, the employee pays less tax. Enrollment Times: (1) annual open enrollment January - December (2) new hires from their start date to the end of the calendar year and (3) mid-year permitted election changes - contact EBC to inquire.
Medical FSA.Maximum. $2550. Eligible to enroll staff working 30+ hours per week OR enrolled in district health insurance. Items that can be ran through a Health Care FSA account - Eligible Expense Listand the Employee Election Estimate Worksheet. Use a Benefits Card (works like a debit card) for processing your Medical FSA purchases. Dependent Day Care FSA. Maximum. $5000. Eligible to enroll if work 20+ hours per week. Participants use the account to pay for daycare expenses for children or other eligible dependents. Group Insurance Premiums. The WCSD withholds health and dental employee-paid premiums as pre-tax deductions. Employees do not need to complete an enrollment process for this to occur; however, staff choosing to not enroll in pre-tax group insurance premium deductions must submit notice in writing to Human Resources.
