Dear Waunakee Area Community Members,
As our community continues to grow, so does our school district. We strive to be on the leading edge academically and seek opportunities to improve our programs each year. As a result, students in all grades continue to perform above state and national averages in all assessments. Waunakee currently ranks in the top 10 districts in the state! But community growth also means that we need additional school space for our students. Following a three year process, and input from community and staff, the Waunakee School Board has finalized a flexible long-range Facilities Master Plan to address student enrollment growth. In August, the Board unanimously approved the required ballot resolutions necessary to advance two questions for a November 2014 Referendum.
I encourage all community members to learn more about the proposed project and to make an informed vote on each of the two questions; one to borrow funds specifically for facility construction and the other to support the ongoing operational costs associated with the added space and future capital maintenance expense.
I invite you to visit the Referendum 2014 pages to learn more about the long-range facilities plan, proposed Phase I project and site plans, costs and upcoming opportunities for you to tour our schools and attend the Referendum Information Nights. If I can answer your questions directly, please contact me at 608-849-2000 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
