Hello!
My name is Ann Bennett. I am the Reading Specialist at our Middle School. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota.
I have had the opportunity to work in many different educational settings both overseas and in the United States. I taught elementary school on the island of Guam for 3 years. I also taught English as a Foreign Language in South Korea. Both of these opportunities gave me a chance to travel extensively and learn about different cultures.
In addition to my teaching experiences overseas, I have taught in several different states. In Alabama, I was a Curriculum Developer and Literacy Skills Instructor for Enterprise State Junior College. In New York, I worked as a School-to-Work Coordinator and Reading Teacher. I also taught 1st grade in Kansas.
Most recently, I completed my Master’s Degree in Literacy Education at Northern Illinois University.
I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and of course reading!
