WMS students in Band, Choir, & General Music are all expected to follow the same Behavior Expectations. All teachers in the MS Music Suite will enforce these expectations for every student.
We call this the "Music Suite Mantra:"

- Be PREPARED
- Be YOUR PERSONAL BEST
MS Band Behavior Expectation Plan
Teacher: Braun, Gill, Robinson, Pahnke

Grade: 7-8
Date: 2009-10
Objective of Plan:
- Reinforce sense of safety, teamwork & cooperation within all Music classes.
- Promote a safe and welcoming learning environment.
Behavioral Expectations:
- Be on time.
- Be prepared.
- Be your personal best.
Rewards for Positive Behavior:
- A more relaxed (& fun) class.
- Opportunities for student choice: students’ choose warm-up activity, next selection to practice, or next activity;
- Earn a “Classroom Holiday”: a break from ordinary classroom activity; example: "Rhythm Masters" Game.
Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior:
- Verbal / Visual warning.
- Rehearsal Participation points deduction.
- Seating change.
- Time out of rehearsal & Classroom Detention to reflect on better behavior choices.
- Complete "Rehearsal Time Out/ Detention Form"
- 30 minute Classroom Detention.
- Student calls parent from the classroom to notify them of the assigned detention.
- Follow up writing assignment at detention.
- Parent / student / teacher conference; possible Behavior contract.
- Conference with Parent/student/teacher/principal or other appropriate school staff.
