Composing & Music Technology

Band students have opportunities throughout the year to work with a music notation program (Sibelius) to learn to arrange and compose music. Students have opportunities for much more in-depth composing during the Waunakee Community School District Summer School program through a "Computers and Composing" class. This class meets once/ week for six weeks. More information is available through the WCSD Summer School links.

Band students also use music technology to practice scales, rhythm and songs (Smart Music), to develop their aural skills through ear training (Auralia), and to improve their understanding of music notation (Musition).  These activities are incorporated into band lessons and rehearsals on a regular basis.

Music Technology: Smart Music, Sibelius, Musition, Auralia
