We spend a majority of our year covering physical science topics. This includes "Properties and Interactions of Matter," which begins by covering the basic properties of matter (mass, weight, volume, and density) and finishes with an investigation of the patterns of the periodic table. Use the above link to take you to a page with many links used during the "Properties and Interactions of Matter" section of this unit. |

This portion of the unit uses CoMPASS, a hyper-textbook that uses concept maps and hyper-text to teach students about a variety of topics involving work and energy. We will be building safe and exciting rollercoasters to learn about Newton's Laws of Motion and a few other important concepts related to forces and motion.
This unit is part of the CoMPASS research project through University of Wisconsin-Madison, which you can read more about through links on the "Forces and Motion" page. You'll also find links to the CoMPASS hyper-text by using the above link. |
