"The arts are not apart from successful education; they are a part of successful education."

The Art Room at

Waunakee Intermediate School

Together, we will explore the meaning of art in our lives, and the art of other times, other places, and other cultures.

We will learn how art is integrated into other subject areas and beyond the classroom.

We will learn to use a variety of materials as we apply the design elements and principles to create art that expresses and communicates our ideas.

We will learn to reflect on art works by describing, analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating our own art and the works of other well-known artists.

How often does my child have art class?

All 5th grade students have art twice a week for forty minutes.

All 6th grade students have art every other day for forty minutes for a semester.

When will my child bring their artwork home?

Mrs. Burton will keep all art projects until the art show in May.  At that time, all project work will be sent home.
