Welcome to 8th grade science, my name is Mr. Nesbitt. I have been teaching at Waunakee Community Middle School since 2001. Before I came to Waunakee I taught science to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in Algoma, WI. Algoma is a great town just south of Door County located on the shores of Lake Michigan. I also taught computer science classes on the Menominee Indian Reservation in northern Wisconsin to students in kindergarten through the eighth grade. When I am not working with students I enjoy being outdoors. I love visiting state and national parks, backpacking, camping, fishing, outdoor photography and watching football.
This year we will be exploring the world of physical sciences. Our topics include the scientific method, physics, geology, chemistry, and astronomy. Each unit is about a quarter long and will introduce students to some of the important concpets in each scientific discipline and prepare them to solve problems using the scienfic method.
