 Take Home Spanish Backpacks
We are so lucky to be able to check out very special, take-home backpacks full of Spanish books, games, and activities from our own Arboretum library!
There are many things you can do at home with the contents of these backpacks. For example, there are books to read; some are bilingual, some come with CDs to listen to while you read the story. You can play games; there are dice games as well as board games with the Supergato Activity bag. You can assemble puzzles; big and small.
The purpose of these backpacks is to have fun with Spanish at home. There are four different backpacks for four different levels; however all students can find meaningful activities within each backpack. A lot of the vocabulary within these books, games and puzzles are not necessarily vocabulary we have covered in Spanish class at school, but it might be fun to learn these new words as a family. For example, you can label your house with some new Spanish words or play number games with the dice to see how high you can count together in Spanish. Encourage your students and let them know how important learning a world language is to you.
