Waunakee Music Boosters
The Waunakee Music Boosters exist to support the Waunakee Community School District music programs. Any adult who lives in the school district and wants to help support the music programs can be a member. The boosters sponsor the annual Fruit Sale (Oct-Nov., delivery in Dec.) and Plant/Flower Sale (March-April, delivery in May) plus the Ice Cream Social at the first Waunakee Community Band concert in early June. Also, on Friday, February 10th, the boosters will sponsor the 4th annual "Sweetheart Dance." They provide funds for summer music camp scholarships, solo-ensemble accompanists, solo-ensemble medals, trips, concerts, guest artists & clinicians and equipment.
What Do the Music Boosters do?
The Music Booster's organization does many things for the music students and teachers. Please read the list below.

Help fund orchestra/choir/band trips

Help fund enrichment activities for all students which includes:

Chapter 6 in January 2009 – workshops were held for many choir students as well as a concert that was held at the PAC for all to enjoy.

Blue Man Group April 2009 – help fund orchestra students trip to Chicago to see this fabulous group

Pay for piano accompanists & medals for solo & ensemble

Offer scholarships for any music student who would like to attend a summer music camp

Help the music teachers when needed (organizing events, chaperoning events, etc.)

Sponsors annual movie night to build community amongst the kids.

Who benefits from the Music Boosters?
Every band/orchestra/choir student in high school and middle school receive money directly or indirectly from the Music Boosters.
How do I become a Music Booster member?
If you have a child in middle school and/or high school orchestra, choir or band, you are considered a Music Booster. Though we like to get a lot of parents involved with the music program, there is no obligation to participate. You also do not need to be current music parent to be part of the organization. Any community member can get involved!!
Music Booster Donation/Fee - do I have to pay it?
The Music Booster Donation/Fee is not required. We greatly appreciate anyone who contributes to the boosters, but your son or daughter will still receive funds even if the booster donation/fee isn't paid.
Fruit Sale/Plant Sale Fundraisers - is my child required to sell?
The music boosters have 2 major fundraisers a year. One in the fall (fruit sale) and one in the spring (plant sale). We appreciate anyone who is willing to sell and contribute to the music boosters, however this is NOT required of any student.
According to the fund raising policy:
Participation in fundraising activities is to be voluntary on the part of students and families.
