Students explored two elements of design for this project: LINE and COLOR. They practiced drawing from observation before creating a contour line drawing of a 3-D object. (Many students chose to draw one of the many PEZ containers in the classroom, so the paintings have a Pop Art feel.)
The drawings were then creatively divided into "wheels" of 12 sections. The drawings were painted using primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, as well as tints and shades. Some students increased the complexity by adding complementary colors as well!
