Students viewed work by American artist Duane Hanson before beginning this project.  They were amazed at how realistic his sculptures are!

They also spent time creating gesture drawings of one another.  Students took turns modeling in active poses so their classmates could practice drawing figures with correct proportions.  Final sculptures are made with a wire and newspaper armatures before being covered with plaster gauze.  Acrylic paint and a few extras make the finishing touches!
