Etched Mirrors

Students learned about two forms of etching before beginning this project: sand blasting and chemical etching.  They designed their stencils and transferred them to contact paper covered mirrors.  Areas of the contact paper were peeled away to reveal the mirror beneath and etching cream was applied.  After the cream was rinsed, students removed the contact paper and cleaned their mirrors.  This project impressed every student and they all enjoyed success.
