We learned about American artist Keith Haring before beginning this project. Haring was a graffiti and pop artist from New York who first became famous for his subway chalk drawings. Haring used symbols with bright colors and bold outlines. He loved painting for an audience and working with groups of kids on murals.
For this project students designed a meaningful symbol. They used a "Safety Cut" printing block to create a Reduction Print of their design. The finished prints were signed, titled, and numbered.
