This project was inpsired by Norman Messenger's two flip books Famous Faces and Making Faces. The pages of the books are cut into flaps that can be flipped so features from more than one face can be combined to make a crazy one. Each student made a portrait following specific guidelines. When the portraits were finished the computer class scanned and printed out copies for each student. We bound our books and cut the flaps. Students loved combining them to make new faces. It was a fun way to learn about facial proportions!
