Students learned about Native American pottery before designing a "spirit vessel."  They focused on natural imagery to decorate their coil constructed vessels.  Students were challenged to use incised (carved away) designs and appliquéd (added on) designs to complete their pottery.  The finished pots were bisque fired before being glazed and re-fired.

Students watched the video "Daughters of the Anasazi," and viewed a Power Point with many traditional examples, to gain an appreciation for Native American pottery traditions.
