Students looked at examples of Pre-Columbian ceramic artwork before designing their own ceramics project. 8th grade artists were challenged to create a Zoomorphic Tripod Vessels. (Vessel = container, Tripod = stands on three "legs", Zoomorphic = abstract animal representation.) As an additional component, students were asked to choose an animal that somehow represents their personal qualities/characteristics.
This project is based on a lesson by Maria Lengauer and can be found here.
