Encyclopedias: check both of our online encylopedias for general background information on your subject.
Encyclopedia Britannica - Also includes links to articles and good websites
Books: Check in the 921 section of the library (nonfiction) and the name of your person for books dedicated to your person [example: 921 FOR for books on Henry Ford] Also look in the 920 section for biographical information on groups of people such as business tychoons.
Databases: These have articles from biographical dictionaries, encyclopedias and other general reference sources.
History Reference Center - Go to the History Reference Center (Left, just under EBSCOHost) in the blue section). Search in US History.
Student Research Center - Go to the Student Research Center (Center, just under EBSCOHost in the blue section). Click on the "Uncheck all" button and then just select biographies. Enter the name of your person and search.
Decades Database - Either search on your person or select 1920s from the top and browse through the appropriate topics in that decade (example: Crime will get you to information about Al Capone)
History Study Center - Select "History Study Center" one more time. Search on your topic or go directly to the Study Units and browse by period and topic.
