A Rolling Partnership: Waunakee FBLA and Waunakee Neighborhood Connection
Waunakee FBLA partnered with Waunakee Neighborhood Connection for a toilet paper drive!
FBLA sponsored a toilet paper drive for WNC. The following FBLA student leaders volunteered to take lead this project: Taylor Zimprich, Brandon Creamer, Alex Brost, and Brandon Jaeger. The students understood the need all families have for essential items and developed the idea of a toilet paper drive. WNC purple bins were placed at these local businesses: Culver’s, Fitness for Success, Adventures in Learning, Curves, Piggly Wiggly, and Walgreens.
A service event also took place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 during the Waunakee High School boys’ varsity basketball game when the team hosted Milwaukee Washington High School. The game and the FBLA event took place at the Waunakee High School Field House. One dollar of every ticket sold to the game was donated to the WNC toilet paper drive - a total of over $300. A purple bin was located at the game for attendees to donate toilet paper. Also, the students put on an exciting and interesting halftime show to promote the toilet paper drive .
The halftime show involved four decirated toilet bowls! The game consisted of four high school students from four different classes, attempting to make as many toilet paper roll “baskets” as possible, into the four porcelain bowls. The winners received a prize from local businesses – but the biggest prize was the fun everyone had and the 1,500 toilet paper rolls donated to WNC. Thank you to everyone who “rolled” in for the fun!
