This year marks the 46th anniversary of the Waunakee Scholarship Fund! Since its inception in 1966, the fund has awarded $817,330 in scholarships to 4,445 students. Last year alone, $40,860 in scholarships was awarded. This has been possible only because of the generosity of our wonderful community. The Scholarship Committee and recipients of past scholarships would like to thank you for your continuing support of this scholarship program.
As the community grows, so does our student population and the need for ongoing support of those students pursuing higher education. The 2012 Waunakee High School graduating class is 285 students. It is anticipated that 80% of these students will attend a post-secondary education institution.
On April 18th, members of the WHS senior class will canvas the Waunakee School District community to raise scholarship money for the Class of 2012. Keeping in mind these difficult economic times, any contribution is appreciated in helping us reach our goal of $45,000.
All money collected is distributed to seniors who have participated in the drive and applied for this scholarship. The scholarship check is made payable to the university or technical college that the student plans to attend.
If you will not be home on April 18th, (student collection night), contributions may be dropped off in the high school main office or mailed to: Waunakee Scholarship Fund, 301 Community Drive, Waunakee, WI 53597. Your contribution may be tax deductible; consult your tax advisor.
Thank you for your investment in our youth and in our community.
