Youth Options

The Youth Options program allows all public high school Juniors and Seniors who meet certain requirements to take post-secondary courses at a Wisconsin Technical College or institution of higher education.

Youth Options applications, and other resources can be found at the Youth Options link below.  Students need to complete the "Program Application Form, PI-8700A" and turn it in to the Counseling office in order to apply for the program.  If you have questions please see your School Counselor or Ms. McGlynn, the School-to-Career Coordinator.

Youth Options Program Information Page

Applications for the Youth Options program are due to Ms. McGlynn in the Counseling Office by: Fall Semester~March 1; Spring Semester~October 1.  

 

All students completing Youth Options applications also need to complete the Transportation Agreement and turn in with their Youth Options applications.  Please see application procedures for your intended institution below.  Talk with your counselor or Mr. Benz if you have questions.

 

Madison College

First visit the MADISON COLLEGE YOUTH OPTIONS PAGE. The page will provide you with the procedures needed for application into Madison College for the Youth Options program.  Find the course(s) that you are interested in and complete a DPI Form PI-8700A, located under "Resources" on the Wisconsin Youth Options Site.  Return that form to the counseling office on or before the due date for the corresponding semester.  Please pay close attention to the "What Steps Should I Follow" directions on the bottom of the Madison College Youth Options page.  You MUST complete these steps in order to register for the Youth Options program at Madison College.

 

UW-Madison

First visit the Public Course Search Page.  Find the course(s) that you are interested in and complete a DPI Form PI-8700A, located under "Resources" on the Wisconsin Youth Options Site.   Return that form to the counseling office on or before the due date for the corresponding semester.  All students (new and returning) must complete a Youth Options Enrollment Plan Form.  New Students applying for UW-Madison for the first time, need to complete a Special Student Application.  Returning students to UW-Madison do not need to complete another special student application.  Make sure to check your school Google account for more information after turning in your application.

 

Edgewood College

Visit the Course Search Page for Edgewood College.  Once you have found the course(s) that you are interested in complete a DPI Form PI-8700A, located under "Resources" on the Wisconsin Youth Options Site.   Return that form to the counseling office on or before the due date for the corresponding semester.  Students need to complete an Edgewood College Undergraduate Application online.  In Section 5 "Anticipated Enrollment Information", students should select "Part Time" and "Youth Options."  Students need to see Mr. Benz in the counseling office regarding the $30 application fee.
