The WMS LMTC currently offers few electronic books. If you are looking for electronic books, consider these options:
-
In Destiny: Go to the Catalog, Visual Search, and select the eBooks category. These are generally not downloadable - instead, you view them in your browser. Some of them require you to "check them out" by logging in with your Destiny username and password. Others require you to click a link in the record (and possibly enter a username and password if you are at home). Read the instructions in the record for details on how to access these books. These books are generally non-fiction titles that may help with various kinds of research projects. (We do have a few classic fiction titles as downloadable ebooks in ePub format, however - found using the same methods as described above.)
-
EBSCO Non-Fiction Collection: Wisconsin's Badgerlink program offers access to a collection of non-fiction electronic books from EBSCO.
-
Public Library: The South Central Library System (of which Waunakee Public Library is a part) offers downloadable electronic books and audiobooks. Search the collection via the Wisconsin Digital Book Center or in LinkCat. You will need a public library card number to access these books, and you will need to install some software that will help you download and manage your ebooks and reading devices. (This same software will help you in High School, as the WHS LMTC has its own ebook collection using the same system.) The South Central Library System also subscribes to EBSCOHost eBooks. Again, you will need a public library card number to access these books.
-
Playaway Audiobooks: The WMS LMTC has many audiobooks in Playaway format. Please see our Audiobooks page for more information.
