Forensics is a co-curricular activity which encourages students to use their artistic skills through drama and public speaking. It is a way for students who love reading and drama to get involved in activities outside of the school day. The goal of the Waunakee Middle School Forensics program is to let students have fun while learning the basics of drama and public speaking. Students who enjoy forensics at the middle school level can join the Forensics team at the high school level where there is more competition. Please contact Ms. Hundt for more information about Forensics.
Competition is divided into categories which students can then choose for participation. Students compete in three competitions where they are judged in their category on a scale of 1 to 30. Participants receive colored ribbons according to their scores.
Ideas for pieces to present can come from many sources. These can include books, websites (see link below), and “hard copies” of pieces that can be obtained from your coaches.
