Dear Parent/Guardian,
This year your child will be participating in the administration of Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). Our students will participate in this online assessment on a computer. The online tests will measure your child's academic growth within the year, and from year to year in the areas of mathematics, reading, and language usage. Each online assessment takes approximately one hour to complete.
Students in grades three through seven take the MAP test in September and again in May. Students in eighth grade take the test in May only (they take the EXPLORE test in the fall). Following each testing period, parents will receive reports that provide information on their children's academic progress. The information obtained through the MAP testing will be used to assist our students' learning and to help guide future instruction.
Students, parents, and guardians are encouraged to go to the MAP web site for more information. Parents and guardians are also welcome to contact our coordinator, Ms. Jackie Sweno, or our guidance counselor, Mr. Ty Jury with questions. They can be reached through e-mail or by calling 849-2060.
We are excited to be using the most current technological tools to focus on every child's individual growth and achievement. When students, parents, and teachers collaborate, using current research and technology to support student achievement, our students succeed!
