The Waunakee Tribune has offered adolescent writers here at Waunakee Community Middle School the opportunity to develop our own weekly column in the newspaper. Staff members are encouraged to nominate students who will then write brief articles about learning opportunities here at our school (lessons, projects, guest speakers, events, concerts, etc). Read more about this opportunity on the Waunakee Tribune Writers page.
Update: Paul Tietz's article was published on Feb. 9, & Danny Steinl's article was published on Feb. 2!
The U.S. Navy Band will be performing at the HS Field House on March 16th at 7:00 pm. Admission is free but tickets are required. Please click here for more information on the performance and how to acquire tickets.
BoxTops for Education
The Middle School is participating in BoxTops for Education to raise funds for our positive student behavior initiative. You can help in two ways:
The BoxTops for Education logo clipped from various products can be dropped off in the Middle School main office.
Parents can shop online at select stores to provide credit for our school. Visit the BoxTops for Education website to create an account and associate it with our school, then shop the marketplace.
Please contact Dana Zarling for more information. Thank you for your help!
Please note: most of these resources will work only in our school buildings or when you are logged on to WebNet at home.
Indoors in the Morning
Students: Now that cold weather has arrived, you need to gather and wait in the Cafe in the morning before school. As always, you should not be in the halls or classrooms before school unless you have made arrangements to work with a teacher or have a pass for the LMTC.
When warmer weather returns in the spring, you will resume the practice of waiting outside in the morning before school. Thank you!
