The Waunakee Tribune has offered adolescent writers here at Waunakee Community Middle School the opportunity to develop our own weekly column in the newspaper. Staff members are encouraged to nominate students who will then write brief articles about learning opportunities here at our school (lessons, projects, guest speakers, events, concerts, etc).
In addition, the Tribune now hosts a Student Corner on their website, where they will feature student creative writing.
The objectives of the partnership between the middle school and the Waunakee Tribune are:

to create real-world writing opportunities for adolescent writers

to bridge a gap between schools and the community by highlighting learning opportunities here at our school
Interested students who are not nominated by a staff member may see Ms. Rydzewski if they wish to be a part of the Waunakee Tribune Writers Project.
