Our all school conflict resolution/problem solving method is called Kelso's choices. There are nine choices and children must try at least two of the choices when a small problem occurs. If after trying two choices and the problem is still there, it is now a big problem and the child can go to an adult for help. We believe that children are smart enough and strong enough to solve small problems. Each child is given a Kelso's wheel chart which shows all the choices in pictures and words. Since we have been using this program on our playground, many disagreements have been solved by the children themselves.
