Kindness knows no boundaries. It is an universal action which occurs in all cultures. Kindness has the power to change lives because when it is done, someone is positively affected.
At an all school assembly, we introduced the concept of kindness. We talked to our students what it is and explained how it feels to receive kindness, what it feels like to give kindness, and why it is so important. Our staff performed a skit about kindness and then we challenged our students to do acts of kindness for others. They were given a large "K" and were to perform an act of kindness for someone. Upon completion, they were to give the K to that person, have them sign their name, and then ask them to pass it on, or pay it forward.
Together, we are trying to make it a kinder world, one act at a time . .
