School-to-Work Program The Waunakee Community School District School-toWork Program is one of the fastest changing sectors of our school district. Student programs include Co-op programs for high school seniors. Approximately 100 students paricipate in the twelve various co-op programs. Apprenticeships are available to eligible juniors and seniors in printing, auto technician, banking/finance, biotechnology, and hospitality and leisure services. Internship is available in computer technology for juniors and seniors. The district is a member of the Badger Consortium (Waunakee, DeForest, Monona Grove, Sun Prairie, Middleton-Cross Plains) which helps train staff, coordinate apprenticeship, and articulation agreements with MATC (Madison Area Technical College). The consortium also works jointly on securing grant funding such as Carl Perkins, and School-to-Work. Other responsibilities of the program are to promote business partnerships, update and promote the career counseling center, and conduct/design staff development opportunities.
