Substitute Orientation
Teachers and Para-Educators (Classroom Assistants)
The Waunakee Community School District is seeking substitute teachers and substitute para-educators (classroom assistants) for the 2011-12 school year. We are currently only accepting applications from licensed or certified teachers. Substitute teacher positions are whole day or half day. Work schedules for substitute para-educators range from 2 to 8 hours per day. Job duties include assisting in classrooms and/or working with children with special needs and assisting with outside playground duties. Para-educator candidates with limited day and/or hour availability are also encouraged to apply!
Applications are available online at www.waunakee.k12.wi.us . Click on Human Resources, Substitute Vacancies. Substitute assistant pay is from $10.53 to $10.95 per hour. Substitute teacher pay is currently $110 per day, $55 per half day.
Plan to attend the District’s Substitute Orientation, Thursday, August 25, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. The orientation will take place in the cafeteria at Prairie Elementary School, located at 700 North Madison Street. 12:45 – 1:00 sign in,1:00 presentation, 2:00 collection of forms. Attendance is through registration by contacting LuAnn at (608) 849-2168.
Attendance is optional for returning substitutes.
