In December 2009, the Waunakee Community School District asked the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance (WISTAX) to study the fiscal impacts of the Bishops Bay development.  This development is located in the south part of the school district and in projected to begin in the next few years, taking 20-30 years to fully build out.  The district received the WISTAX report in February and the results were presented to the Board of Education at its regular March 2010 meeting by Dale Knapp, WISTAX Research Director.

The analysis concluded that the Bishops Bay development would modestly lower property taxes for other district property owners and students from that development would generate more revenue than expenses for the district.  The full report is available at the link below and should be reviewed for the detailed study.
