Welcome to Summer with the Waunakee Community School District. You can view our summer school website for more details!

If your child will be absent from summer school classes, please call to let us know. We realize that attendance is not mandatory, but we want to make sure that all our students are safe and accounted for. The Summer School attendance line is available, beginning on June 17 for all schools.

Heritage Elementary School Surplus Sale

With the move of Heritage Elementary School, the Waunakee Community School District is planning two events, open to the public, for items not being moved to the new building, and not being reused at other school buildings. These items will be offered for public sale as follows:

  • Wednesday, March 20:  8:00 a.m. Preview opens for the registration system. Information on the registration system including directions will be posted on the Summer School webpage.
  • Tuesday, April 2:  6:00 p.m. Registration for the High School and Middle School opens
  • Tuesday, April 9:  6:00 p.m. Registration for the Intermediate School opens
  • Tuesday, April 16:  6:00 p.m. Registration for Elementary Schools, Swim Lessons and Camp Invention opens
  • Wednesday, May 15: Summer School Registration Closes
  • Friday, May 31: Alternate Transportation Requests Due

Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration

Join us for an experience at Waunakee Community High School, celebrating the Chinese New Year! The event is open to the community, and free to attend. Click here for more information.

2024-2025 Open Enrollment

We are thrilled to share that open enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is now open! 

Families are encouraged to apply for open enrollment in our school district from Monday, February 5, 2024, through Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

One Stoplight Town

Mark your calendars! The Waunakee Drama Club will present One Stoplight Town on February 15, 16, and 17. The show will take place at 7 p.m. each day in the Old Auditorium at Waunakee Community High School. Purchase tickets here.

Census 2023 - We want to hear from you!

If you are a Waunakee Community School District resident and have children (birth through 18 years of age ) not currently enrolled in our district, we would like to hear from you. The census is different from registration. Do not include currently enrolled WCSD students. The benefit to you is that if you fill out the census, you are in our system and we are able to contact you with information appropriate for the age of your child(ren).

It helps us plan our future enrollment in our district. It also allows us to provide you with information appropriate for your child.

Congratulations to Waunakee Community High School for being recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) as a 2022 Advanced Placement Pacesetter Award winner!

The 2022 Advanced Placement Pacesetter Awards are unique to Wisconsin and represent a celebration of excellence from students across the state. AP courses provide students with the opportunity for challenging college-level work and potentially earning college credit while in high school.

Get Ready for Summer School 2023

Waunakee Community School District offers many exciting, challenging and above all FUN classes to engage your child in summer learning. Courses are available for children from 4K thru 12th grade and included enrichment, remedial, music, strength and conditioning, and swim lessons.
