2026 Youth Summer Camps

The Waunakee Community School District is proud to offer a wide range of summer camp opportunities for students in grades K–12. These programs provide students with meaningful ways to stay active, build skills, and stay connected to their school community throughout the summer months.

We are grateful for the continued support of our student-athletes, coaches, and programs. It is this strong sense of community that makes these opportunities possible and keeps our tradition of excellence moving forward.

We Need Your Input

We’re committed to planning for the future - together. Our community survey will focus on district operations and future facility needs, including the high school. We'd love your feedback!

If you need additional paper copies of the survey for an adult in your house, please reach out to us via email wcsd_communications@waunakee.k12.wi.us. The survey is due by April 27, 2026.

We also value the opportunity to connect in-person. Steve Summers and Dr. Monica Kelsey-Brown are available to meet with families and community members. If you are interested in scheduling a time to talk, please reach out. We welcome the conversation and encourage your feedback and questions.

Learn More About WCSD

Waunakee Community School District is built on strong traditions, high expectations, and a clear focus on what matters most - students. We partner closely with families and the community to provide engaging learning experiences that prepare students for what’s next.

School Census - We want to hear from you!

If you are a Waunakee Community School District resident and have children (birth through 18 years of age) not currently enrolled in our district, we would like to hear from you. The census is different from registration. Do not include currently enrolled WCSD students. The benefit to you is that if you fill out the census, you are in our system and we are able to contact you with information appropriate for the age of your child(ren).

It helps us plan our future enrollment in our district. It also allows us to provide you with information appropriate for your child.

November is National Native American Heritage Month

November is National Native American Heritage Month! This is a time dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the rich and diverse histories, cultures, contributions, and contemporary issues of Indigenous peoples across the United States.

For the month of November, you will see the Ho-Chunk flag flying at each school. The Board of Education (BOE) approved recognition per a resolution adopted a few years ago to commemorate Native American Heritage Month. The resolution by the Board of Education can be found on our district website.

You may be aware of the current federal government shutdown. The federal program known as FoodShare, Wisconsin’s version of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), is currently funded through October 2025, but may be delayed or unavailable in November if the federal government shutdown continues. The Wisconsin Department of Human Services (DHS) website will continue to provide updates.
