Name, Image, Likeness (NIL)
In April 2025, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) approved Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) language, making Wisconsin one of more than 40 states to allow student-athletes to engage in NIL opportunities. Under the approved guidelines, student-athletes may participate in NIL activities that are not connected to their school, team, conference, or the WIAA and must comply with rules that prohibit activities designed to improperly influence school transfers.
The Waunakee Community School District is committed to supporting our student-athletes and families in understanding this evolving landscape. We recognize that NIL can present exciting new opportunities, and we are here to help ensure that participation aligns with WIAA regulations and district expectations.
