Punch cards must be purchased online through the
REVTRAK Webstore.
Punch cards will be created and kept at the Aquatic Center.  
The Aquatic Center is CLOSED on national holidays and for various rentals throughout the year.

Sunday Family Swim 

SUNDAY FAMILY SWIM will return SEPTEMBER 17, 2023

Spend quality time with your family at the pool from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. The cost is $10.00 per immediate family. Must pre-register online for the visit. Children must be accompanied by adults and adults must be accompanied by children.  Immediate family only please!

Must register prior to visit.

PLEASE NOTE:  If the date doesn't populate when you login to register, either all the spots are filled for that day or Family Swim is not offered on that date.

 The Waunakee Aquatic Center - American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course.

Lifeguard Training Course Prerequisites 

■ A 300-yard swim that continuously demonstrates breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used. 

■ Treading water using only the legs for 2 minutes. 

■ A timed event performed within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface in order to breathe (or get a breath). Candidates should not swim the distance under water. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Candidates must successfully complete the above prerequisites to participate in the course. 
 

AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD TRAINING (r.24 program)
BLENDED LEARNING COURSE DETAILS

DATE:  June 10-20, 2024 (Monday - Thursday)
COST:  $50 - Waunakee HS Students | $200 - Non-Students
TIME:  1:00-4:00 p.m. daily (in-person content)

• 7 hours online course work (DUE prior to June 10)
• 21 hours (approximately) in-person

To earn certification, participants must:
▪ Complete all online course content in advance of the corresponding in-person sessions.  
▪ Attend the entire course and participate in all class sessions.
▪ Actively participate in all course activities, including assuming various roles during skill practices, skill drills, activities and scenarios.
▪ Demonstrate proficiency in all skills.
▪ Pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80 percent. ▪ Pass the three (3) final skill assessments which include:
o Assessment 1—Timed Response
Participants must complete a passive submerged rescue, extricate with the assistance of an assisting rescuer, and rapid assessment (including the delivery of 2 initial ventilations by either rescuer) within 1 minute, 30 seconds, and then provide 3 minutes of single-rescuer CPR.
o Assessment 2—Rotation and Scanning
Participants must rotate into the lifeguard station, conduct surveillance from the station for 1 minute, and rotate out of the station.
o Assessment 3—Final Team Response Testing Scenario
Participants must perform a passive submerged rescue, extrication and rapid assessment, followed by multiple-rescuer CPR and use of AED and BVM resuscitator.
