Waunakee offers exciting and dynamic Summer School morning programs for students who will be entering grades 4K - 12 grade in the fall.
June 23 - July 31, 2025
Monday -Thursday mornings, unless noted.

We strive to involve enthusiastic, well qualified educators and support staff in our summer school program and look forward to you joining our exceptional staff.

Paper applications are not accepted. All positions will be posted on this website and must be applied for online. All positions are open until filled.

Camp Invention 2025 will run 6/16/25 to 6/20/25.

Summer School classes will run 6/23/25 to 7/31/25.

2025 Camp Invention Wait List Form

• Do you reside within the Waunakee School District attendance boundaries?
• Was your student not enrolled as a full time student with the Waunakee Community School District during the 2024-2025 school year?
• Do you want your student to attend Waunakee Summer School in 2025?

If you answered yes to these three questions, then you will need to follow the instructions below in order to enroll your student in Waunakee Summer School 2025.

In order for your student to be eligible to register for Summer School, we must get their current contact and health information. You need to:

1. Complete the 2025 Online Summer School Enrollment online application. (click here to access) Note: The online application works best on a device other than a smartphone.  
2. Be sure to complete the necessary health and immunization information.  You may upload immunization records in the application or send to juliegengler@waunakee.k12.wi.us

Once your form has been processed, you will receive an email. The email will contain your student’s id number. You must have a student id number to create an account in the Summer School registration, preview the Summer School Registration Program and register students. Directions for creating an account, previewing the Summer School Registration Program and registering your student will be available on the district website under Families - Summer School - Registration in late March.

Summer School enrollment forms received by April 1, 2025 will be processed for families in time for families to preview the Summer School Registration Program prior to registration opening and be able to register right away when it opens. 

Enrollment forms received after April 1st may not get processed prior to registration opening.

Transportation:  
The Waunakee Community School District works in partnership with Lamers Bus Company to provide transportation to and from summer school for our families. For the summer of 2025, all K-12 students registered for summer school that live within the transportation boundaries are automatically enrolled for transportation to and from their home address. Service will be available on the first day of summer school, Monday, June 23, 2025 and continue until July 31, 2025. There is no cost for this service for our families.

Transportation Opt-Out (Available April 1, 2025)
We are asking for your partnership regarding transportation this summer. You can help alleviate the pressure on our bus system and allow us to not allocate resources for scheduling routes for families not choosing to use this service. You can assist us by opting-out of transportation for summer school programming. If you would like to opt-out of regular transportation for summer school, please complete the online form as soon as possible for us. Opt out forms filled out for the school year do not apply to summer school.
 
Alternate Transportation Requests
Alternate Transportation is transportation to or from any location other than your home address. Alternate transportation for Summer School is open from April 1, 2025 to May 31, 2025. After the registration deadline, there will be no additional extensions or changes available for summer school. We appreciate your prompt attention to this request. Register for alternate transportation online through the Infinite Campus School Store.  Alternate transportation requests for the school year do not apply to summer school.
 
Transportation Exclusions
There is no busing provided during the middle of the Summer School day. There is no busing provided for music lessons that end outside of the normal Summer School hours. There is no summer school transportation for swimming lessons, strength and conditioning, August Training Camp, Camp Invention, or any of the music camps.
 
Deadlines
There will be no exceptions this year with late deadlines or not registering for alternate transportation. This is transportation to a location other than your home address.
 
Your transportation routes/times will be mailed to your home address as soon as the summer school routes have been finalized by Lamer’s. Routes for Session 1 will be mailed on June 13, 2025. Session 2 routes will be mailed on July 3, 2025.

ALL students, current & new to the district, who will require over the counter medications or prescription medications during Summer School must complete the appropriate form for EACH medication.  This includes emergency medications, such as EpiPen, Auvi-Q, Midazolam, Glucagon, etc.

For the safety of participants and instructors, swimmers will not be permitted to participate in a class that does not match their swimming ability. 

It is very important that Summer School staff take attendance at the beginning of their class.

Teachers, Para-Educators, Classified Staff, and Teaching Assistants:
Teachers, para-educators, classified staff, and teaching assistants are compensated for this orientation session at their hourly rate of pay. For staff paid by contract, this time was included in your contract. Attendance is mandatory.  Failure to attend will result in your contract being docked. For staff paid by True Time, you need to sign in at the time your orientation starts.
