Waunakee Community Middle School Visioning TeamWaunakee Community School District is committed to engaging teachers and support staff in the architectural design process. Our staff has unique insights into the needs of our students, and their participation in the design process ensures physical facilities support the district’s current and future curriculum. By involving these stakeholders in the design process, architects can create more functional and practical learning environments, helping to foster academic success.

Currently, Waunakee Community Middle School staff are working with a team of architects and designers from EUA  in a "Visioning” process. This process involved a series of meetings over several weeks where staff members explore ideas, review designs, and provide feedback. It is important to remember that the EUA design team will gather input from all staff, not just the Visioning Team, during multiple stages in the design process.  

The results of this process will be a creative and innovative middle school that supports Waunakee Community School District’s current and future curriculum, mission and vision, as well as student needs. By involving teachers and support staff in the design process, the school will truly be a learning environment tailored to meet all student and staff needs.
 

Waunakee Community Middle School Visioning Team Visits

The Waunakee Community Middle School Visioning Team recently toured several area schools for inspiration, brainstorming, and the latest innovative learning design. Middle school staff, administrators, and EUA designers toured the newly renovated and expanded Middleton High School, Forest Park Middle School (Franklin), Karcher Middle School (Burlington), and Waunakee Intermediate School.

Staff provided their feedback to the design team, which used the input to generate design ideas for subsequent Visioning Team meetings.

The school district held a community engagement session on Monday, January 31, 2022 as the beginning of the planning process with the community. The meeting was held in-person at the district office, while community and school members were able to view virtually via Zoom Webinar format or via YouTube. The meeting began with a welcome, district presentation, and then welcomed questions/answers/comments with participants. View the district presentation HERE.

Respondents could:

The district financial advisor, PMA, shared a financial plan at the July 11, 2022 School Board meeting.
